Explore to Trikeri

At the southern end of Magnesia is Trikeri, a traditional village with a remarkable historical past and rich folk tradition, while the islet in Pagasitikos, Paleo Trikeri, has similar historical value.

Beautiful houses and mansions, churches and picturesque alleys make up the image of the settlement, which is built on a hill and overlooks the sea. It is worth visiting the churches of Agia Triada (1739), with a wood-carved gilded iconostasis, pulpit and despotic throne made in Barcelona, Agios Athanasios (18th century) and Agios Anargyros (19th century).

The village was an important pre-revolutionary naval center (its shipwrights traveled to the neighboring Northern Sporades, to the ports of the Black Sea, Asia Minor and the Mediterranean), while it played a leading role in the Revolution of 1821.
